J.H. REES, NATIVE OF CLAYTON, DIES IN CHICAGO
Clayton, March 10--Word has been received by Mrs. Mary Vandewalker, 540 John street, of the death of her brother, Joseph H. Rees, 79, who died March 2 in Chicago. Mrs. Vandewalker is now the only living decendent of the David Rees family.
Joseph H. Rees was born in Clayton March 24, 1857, the son of David and Marceline Rees. He spent his boyhood in Clayton and married for his first wife, Clarice Rice, of St. Lawrence, who died many years ago. He then married Helen Hess of Chicago. During his early life he went sailing up the lakes and later moved to Chicago where he was employed for many years in a box factory. Several years ago he retired on a pension.
The survivors are his widow; three daughters, Helen, Blanche and Addie of Chicago; one son, Joseph of Philadelphia, Pa.; and his sister, Mrs. Mary Vandewalker, Clayton
